The Stories in a Face

This series of portraits was created from my passion for connecting with the person behind deep storytelling faces.  Most are faces that might be largely ignored by the masses in our fast-paced, disconnected lives. Some (but not all), are homeless. But each person behind these portraits gave me a window into their world, and I found their stories fascinating.  One in particular, Lite Earl Gossage, Jr., came to be what I considered a dear friend who years after I saw him last passed away.  On his deathbed, he asked the person tending to him to find me and let me know that he had passed away.  I believe I cherish this work more than any other that I have done.  Deep in my heart I found a connection to real people who were kind and interesting and funny... and but for the Grace of God could be me.
